Theresa started out in life seeking direction. Having bought a map,
she soon realised she liked the pictures, but didn't understand how
to get there.
At the age of four, she experienced a three-year
confine within the Bruderhof, a closed Christian commune somewhere
near Battle and upon her exodus, was described as 'a bit strange'.
School reports observed she was 'able but
scruffy' and at the age of 17, she was asked to leave because the
'bus missed her' a little too often.
Having gone to a Welsh university to study
English, she realised it was not only poetry that got lost in translation:
she had no idea where she was, what she was doing - or why.
Some years later, she held a first class
honours degree in Management Studies from an Uxbridge University
and got a job as a news reporter at The Daily Sport. She remained
there for six months and never looked back.
She now works in London as a secondary school
teacher, inspiring students to do something else. Her philosophy
is: 'If you can't make it rhyme, it's a waste of time'.
Other Theresa has been weaving rhymes since
the alphabet unjumbled itself, performing in London, Manchester
and Hastings. Recently, she realized that if you add choruses to
some poems and modulate the voice a bit, it's possible to to pass
them off as songs! Go to www.myspace.com/othertheresa
and see/hear for yourself
Please take time to enjoy her 'stuff', which
is free from forced rhymes, artificial sentiments and unnecessary
expletives. Her words are suitable for all skin types - and no animals
were harmed during lyrical experiments.
Other Theresa lives in Walthamstow, has
two cats and is probably single.
